Itinerary

Day 01: Day Trek to Lamadugh | Old Manali to Lamadugh to Old Manali
To reach Manali, you have several transport options that include a combination of buses, trains, and flights, with the nearest airport at Bhuntar and the nearest railway stations at Ambala and Chandigarh. In the morning, reach Manu Temple in Old Manali, past the famous Hadimba Temple, sharp at 10:00 AM to commence your trek to Lamadugh. The steep trail will cross thick forests of deodar and pine. Do not forget to carry enough water bottles and a packed lunch, as there is no water source between Manali and Lamadugh, which is five hours away. The trail offers a magnificent glimpse of Manali, located on the left bank of River Beas. The entire upper Kullu valley with its vibrant colors is clearly visible en route.
As you go higher, you will witness the breathtaking views of the different faces of Indrasan, Deo Tibba, and Bara Shigri glacier. There are several vantage points that offer panoramic views of Manali and the surrounding areas. The last leg of the path turns to the right and you need to traverse the ridge horizontally, to enter Lamadugh. It is a deserted alpine plateau, untouched except for a small hut and a thick growth of alpine flowers. After spending some time exploring the area, start making your way down to Manali post-lunch. Your trek will end when you reach Manali by 6:00 PM in the evening.
