Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Leh

  • Once you arrive, settle in and take some time to relax as you acclimate to the high altitude.

Day 02: Acclimatization Walk in Leh

  • Start your day early to begin acclimatizing to the high altitude in preparation for the Chadar Trek.
  • Begin with a leisurely walk around Leh, which will help you get accustomed to the environment and prepare for the adventure ahead.
  • As you explore, remember to stay well-hydrated, allowing your body to adjust gradually for the upcoming trek.
  • Consequently, you can enjoy a relaxed day in Leh, ensuring you’re fully prepared for the exciting journey.

Day 3: Undergo a medical check-up at the Medical Camp in Leh Market

  • Following that, head to the Medical Camp in Leh Market for a crucial medical check-up, as a certification is required for all participants of the Chadar Trek.
  • At the ALTOA-designated medical camp, obtain your clearance certificate, which will be issued only if you are deemed fit and properly acclimatized for the trek.

  • After completing the check-up, return to your accommodation for a comfortable overnight stay, ready for the exciting journey that awaits.

Day 4: Journey to Raar

Day 05: Trek to Dib Cave/Tibb

Day 06: Dib Cave/Tibb Camp to Naerak Frozen Waterfall

Day 07: Return from Naerak Waterfall and Back to Leh

  • Then, embark on the challenging journey from Naerak Waterfall back to Tibb, noting that the frozen river may have transformed due to temperature changes.

Other Information

  • During the Chadar Trek 2025, you will stay in a Leh hotel on Days 1, 2, 3, and 7, while camping during the trek on Days 4, 5, and 6 as per the itinerary.
  • Starting from Day 4 breakfast until Day 8 breakfast, enjoy meals on the trek, including hot vegetarian breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Conversely, breakfast will be provided only from Day 1 to Day 3.
  • For your comfort, the trek equipment includes double-layer Siachen sleeping bags, sleeping mats, 4-season tents, a mobile kitchen, and utensils.
  • Additionally, first aid, medical kits, an oximeter, and an oxygen cylinder will be provided to ensure your safety.
  • You will be guided by a qualified trek leader, guide, and support staff throughout the journey.
  • Moreover, fixed return transfers are arranged from the Leh Hotel to the Trek Base Camp on Day 4 and from the Trek Base Camp back to the Leh Hotel on Day 7.
  • Finally, porters will handle all common luggage, including tents, sleeping bags, and kitchen supplies, that will allowing you to focus on enjoying the Chadar Trek 2025.
  • Tentative permits, including LAHDC, ALTOA, adventure insurance, wildlife fee, environmental fee, and medical fees, are estimated to cost approximately Rs. 10,000 (subject to government regulations). These fees are to be paid directly to the government of Ladakh based on actual charges.
  • Any kind of personal expenses.
  • A medical check-up may happen at the Tourist Information Center (TIC) or as advised by the ALTOA association for Chadar Trek.
  • Porter to carry personal luggage.
  • Emergency evacuation, hospitalization charge, etc.

  • Any additional cost due to the final decision incurred by the Administration.
  • Pick up and drop from Leh airport.
  • For the Chadar Trek 2025, check-in time is 12 noon, with early check-in available based on room availability.
  • Please note that a minimum of 6 trekkers is required to operate a group; hence, we reserve the right to cancel if this number is not met.
  • Additionally, any extra expenses arising from bad weather or uncontrollable circumstances will be charged separately. Neither International Youth Club nor our partners are liable for these costs.
  • Moreover, we are not responsible for changes in the itinerary due to flight or train schedule alterations, cancellations, political disruptions, or natural events.
  • In the event that the Chadar Trek 2025 is canceled or cannot proceed due to unforeseen circumstances, such as adverse weather conditions or government restrictions, please be aware that no refunds will be provided.
  • Similarly, if a participant leaves the tour early, they must handle their own transportation and accommodation, with no refund for the package.
  • The trek organizers will assist in arranging a taxi, but all associated costs, including transportation, extra accommodation, or medical care, will be the guest’s responsibility.
  • Furthermore, trekkers who fail the medical exam are not eligible for a refund and must arrange their own stay in Leh.
  • Extra accommodation due to medical unfitness will incur a charge of Rs 5,500 for a 3-day stay, and a Monastery tour or local sightseeing in Leh will be offered as part of the recovery process.
  • It is mandatory to carry valid ID proof. Guests are also responsible for their luggage, as we are not liable for any lost or damaged items.
  • We recommend bringing a small daypack for valuables. Additionally, compensation for any damage caused by a guest during the tour will be the guest’s responsibility.
  • Foreign nationals must pay separately for permits to ALTOA. While a basic first aid kit is provided, participants should bring their own personal medication.
  • The trek leader ensures group safety, so participants must follow their instructions for a successful Chadar Trek 2025.
  • As there will be no network connectivity on the trek, inform your family and friends about the lack of communication during the journey.
  • Basic tent accommodations will be provided with limited facilities, focusing on safety and survival rather than comfort.
  • Campsites will have minimal amenities, with basic toilet tents but no bathrooms or showers. Water will be sourced from the river and treated accordingly.
  • Participants need to be self-reliant and equipped for the harsh environment. And Following the guide’s instructions and using proper gear is crucial.
  • Remember, this is an adventure trek, not a vacation, so guests should come prepared to embrace challenges and connect with nature in a unique way.

  • 46 Days or more before the Date of Travel: 25% of the Total Cost
  • 31 – 45 Days before date of departure: 50% of Total Cost
  • 15 – 30 Days before date of departure: 100% of Total Cost

Important: The booking stands liable to be canceled if 100% payment is not received less than 15 days before the Date of Travel. The received amount will be forfeited.

For Flight Tickets

  • 100% Amount of flight tickets at the time of flight booking.
  • Any rescheduling, cancellation, and refunds of flight tickets shall be as per respective airlines rules.

The applicable Credit Voucher will be sent to you on your registered email id within 72 hours from the date of Cancellation. Cancellation will only be accepted on the existing Email Trail.

  • The Credit Voucher shall be valid for one year from the Date of Cancellation.
  • The Credit Voucher can be redeemed against the equivalent or higher amount of the booked package amount.

What are the Booking and Cancellation policies?

All the bookings canceled before 15-December’2021 are eligible for a 50% refund. There will not be any refund applicable for new bookings and existing bookings after 15th-December’2021.

What if someone booked the tour but the Chadar trek didn't happen? (Refunds and operations)

In case the Chadar is not formed we will offer the alternate trek for same duration otherwise 50% refund is applicable on the bookings if no stay or services availed with us.

What if some natural calamities happen in between the treks?

International Youth Club takes utmost care to ensure the safety of its members during the trekking expeditions. However, in the case of any unforeseen mishaps, International Youth Club will not be liable for any injuries caused or for loss of life. All disputes arising due to the above are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi/Delhi only. All participants would be required to sign an Indemnity Form before the start of the program, without which they would not be allowed to take part in the trekking and expeditions.

If any kind of permission required entering in some certain areas?

Any other charge that the local authority (LAHDC, ALTOA, or any other) may charge a development fee during the trek. All of these kinds of charges are to be paid by trekkers in advance before starting the trek and are not included in the package.  

To and Fro transportation details?

Transportation from Base Camp Leh to Leh is included in the package as per the itinerary. Airport transfers pick up or drop may be arranged at an additional cost of Rs.1500/- Per Person

Stay during the Chadar trip?

Stay will be in Hotels in Leh City. Tented accommodation will be provided on a twin/triple sharing basis while on the trek.

Food: What and how will it be provided?

Meals will be provided while on the trek. Our cooks will be serving simple vegetarian nutritious veg hot meals for breakfast and dinner during the camping. Hot lunch will be provided during the trek. (Rice pulao, potato, dal, local dishes, hot soups, eggs, bread, poha, sweet, tea, milk, high energy bars, dry fruits, juices, etc. is the regular menu)

Medication

Oxygen cylinders and first aid will be there during the trek. The rescue and medical team will be available on call in case of any exigencies from the insurance company.
