Northeast, also known as the “Seven Sisters”, is the most mysterious, least explored, and arguably the most beautiful region of India. This glorious gem has Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim, which together constitute the northeast region of India. And while each state has its own charm, culture, and traditions, you’re in for a surprise no matter where you visit. As it shares borders with many of the neighboring countries, the whole region is dominated by hills and mountains to a large extent. And because of this, the climate in North East India generally remains cool while in winters, it gets extremely cold. Therefore, the best time to visit North East India is from the months of November to April every year.
The most pocket-friendly state to visit in the northeast is Mizoram.
Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are the two northeast states that receive seasonal snowfall and that good snow blanket during winter.
If you are someone who wants to cover all the states in one trip, you will need at least 15-16 days to cover the entire northeast region.
Meghalaya, also known as the abode of clouds, is recognized as one of the most beautiful states in North-East India by travelers.
Dras is the coldest inhabited place in India and is rated as the second coldest inhabited place in the world. It lies near the Kargil district and is an adobe for nature lovers.
