Built as a sun trip capital during the colonial rule of the British Empire, presently this place is more of a tourist spoof getting Himachal a prosperous rank in the tourism industry. Location: At an elevation of 1200 m above the sea level, Kullu is situated at the central part adjoining the Beas River and the Sarvari River.

4 hours away from Manali and 42 km down Kullu, Kasol village is known for its lucid white sand near the banks of Parvati river. You’ll fall in love with the big gigantic trees of apples here. Here also grows the natural herb, Charas which is more of a cash crop for the villagers of Kasol. A camper and trekker's paradise, Chandratal Lake is often referred to as one of the most beautiful lakes located at an altitude of about 4300 m in the mighty Himalayas. The name "Chandra Taal" (Lake of the Moon) comes from its crescent shape. Once a tentative residence for Tibetan traders travelling to Spiti and the Kullu valley, it attracts thousands of adventure enthusiasts from all over the world. One can break free from daily monotonous routines here and experience the real nomadic life. Nestled between the hills and mountains of the Peerpanjal range, the sight of this lake's brimming beauty is truly a feast for the eyes.
